Richard B. Vaughan
Chief Executive Officer

Richard serves as CEO of Alloy Merchant Finance, LP (AMF) as well as President of Pinto America Growth Fund, L.P. (PAGF). Prior to AMF and PAGF, Richard was a Managing Principal of Zephyr Management, L.P., with senior responsibilities in Latin America and Asia. Prior to joining Zephyr, Richard worked for Bankers Trust Company in New York in Global Investment Management and in the bank’s proprietary Funds Management group. Richard is a graduate of Princeton University with an A.B. degree in Politics and is a CFA charterholder.

Jeffrey D. Klein
Chief Risk and Strategy Officer

Jeff has over twenty-five years of principal investment and credit experience in the United States and emerging markets. Jeff was Managing Director at Equity Group Investments (EGI), Sam Zell’s private investment firm, where he successfully led investments throughout the capital structure in companies operating in the United States and emerging markets, including Mexico and other Latin American markets. Prior to EGI, Jeff worked for Citibank in Corporate Origination, Leveraged Finance and Syndication groups. Jeff began his career with Mellon Bank in Corporate lending assignments in Pittsburgh and Houston. Most recently, Jeff served as the first Executive Director of the Department of the Interior’s Natural Resource Investment Center focusing on private sector collaboration. Prior to this position, Jeff was the President and CEO of the Global FoodBanking Network, a non-profit organization that works to build and scale food banks in 35 countries. Jeff graduated from Georgetown University with a BSBA in Finance and Economics.


Rodrigo B. Amaré
Chief Investment Officer

Rodrigo serves as Chief Investment Officer for AMF as well as Managing Director of PAGF. For several years, Rodrigo served as CEO/General Manager of Progreso, LLC dba La Michoacana Meat Market, a PAGF portfolio company, where he held the senior position in management and operations until the company was divested in the first half of 2017. Prior to the launch of AMF and PAGF, Rodrigo was Principal of Zephyr Management, L.P. in its private equity funds investing in family-owned consumer companies in Mexico. Prior to joining Zephyr, Rodrigo worked for Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York as an investment banker for Latin America, for Banco Nacional de México (Banamex) and for Arthur Andersen in Mexico City. Rodrigo holds two undergraduate degrees from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) in Mexico City, one in Business Administration and another in Public Accounting, and a MBA from Harvard Business School.


Jaime Arreola
Managing Director

Jaime serves as Managing Director of AMF. Prior to joining AMF, Jaime served as Principal of Pinto America Growth Fund L.P., a private equity fund focused on investing in fast growing companies in the Hispanic market in the U.S. Jaime also served as the General Manager of Excel Distribution LLC, a portfolio company of PAGF, where he had the leading operating role of the company during PAGF’s ownership period until its divestment in early 2017. Prior to joining PAGF, Jaime worked for PepsiCo International in Mexico focused on food product brand management and business development in Latin America. Additionally, Jaime worked at McKinsey and Co. and Femsa Cerveceria in Mexico. Jaime holds a BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) in Monterrey, Mexico and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Jorge Huerta
Director of Finance

Jorge is Director of Finance at AMF. Prior to joining AMF, Jorge held various positions during 9 years at Progreso, LLC dba La Michoacana Meat Market, a PAGF portfolio company, ultimately serving as its Director of Finance. Jorge was responsible for leading and developing the accounting, analytics and reporting, financial planning, treasury, risk management, and payroll functions of the company. Jorge holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business from Universidad Anáhuac in Mexico City, and a MBA from University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas.

Juan Felipe Ariza
Investment Associate

Prior to joining AMF, Juan served as the Senior Financial Analyst at Progreso, LLC dba La Michoacana Meat Market, a PAGF portfolio company. Juan was responsible for developing the analytics and reporting platform. Juan worked with the finance, operations, merchandising and human resources areas to develop their business intelligence. Juan has also worked for BBVA Transfer Services as a Business Development Data Analyst in Houston and Bancolombia as a SME Credit Analyst in Bogotá, Colombia. Juan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and a MBA from University of Houston.

Maria Amparo Ibinarriaga
Chief Risk Officer – Mexico

Prior to the launch of AMF, Amparo worked in the Analytics Area (Decision Management) of the Consumer Banking division of Banco Nacional de México (Banamex). Amparo began her career at Banamex and worked in a variety of positions until 1997. In 1997, she joined Heller Financial (Mexico), where she held the positions of Senior Credit Risk Officer and Chief Risk Officer. Upon the sale of Heller to GE Capital in 2002, Amparo became the Chief Risk Officer of GE Capital Bank, overseeing the Factoring and Loan portfolios. In 2004, she became Managing Director of Portfolio and Credit Policy for the Factoring, Loan and Leasing Businesses, a position she held until returning to Banamex in 2007. Ms. Ibinarriaga earned a BA degree in Economics from Universidad Anahuac. She also holds two degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, an MBA from the Wharton School of Business and a MA degree in International Management at the Lauder Institute.

Sergio Zannie
Vice President – Mexico Origination

Prior to the launch of AMF, Sergio held finance positions at CHG Meridian and Water Capital, and most recently served as Finance Director of Water Capital. Before joining CHG Meridian, he was Director of the SME Banking Division of Banco Santander. From 2006 until 2009, Sergio worked for AIG United Guaranty Mexico as Managing Director of Sales. In 2003, he joined the Mexican subsidiary of El Camino Resources to become Managing Director of Sales and Marketing for leases. Sergio joined Heller Financial (Mexico) in 1999 as Vice President of Origination and Marketing and became New Business Officer at GE Capital upon its acquisition of Heller in 2002. Prior to 1999, he served in a number of roles at the factoring divisions of GE Capital and BBVA Bancomer. Prior to entering the financial services sector, Sergio worked for Arthur Andersen as a member of the audit staff. Sergio earned a BA degree in Accounting-CPA from the Universidad Anahuac and earned an MBA degree from ITAM and Dalhousie University in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Patricio Loizaga
Vice President – Mexico Operations

From December 2005 until June 2015, Patricio served as Operations Director for AIG United Guaranty Mexico covering claims, risk metrics, and systems development. Prior to joining the AIG group in 2005, Patricio had several roles within GE’s Commercial Equipment Finance division, such as “Sales Force Effectiveness Leader” leading the Marketing performance metrics area, “Quality Leader, Six Sigma Black Belt” for the Operations area and “Operations Manager” for financial factoring division. Before joining General Electric Patricio was the Operations Manager for Heller Financial (Mexico) for three years. Patricio holds Bachelor in Business Administration and Master in Finance degrees from the Universidad Anahuac in Mexico City. He holds a Six Sigma Black Belt certificate from the GE school in Norwalk Connecticut, a “Certificate in Corporate Finance” from the Mexican Stock Exchange, and a “Negotiations in the European Community Diploma” from the University of Geneva, Switzerland.
